![[HERO] Healing Through Choice: How Wellness and Recovery Go Hand-in-Hand](https://cdn.marblism.com/Qq5dVwRR08E.webp)
Life has a funny way of taking us to our lowest points just so we can figure out what we’re really made of. If you’re reading this, maybe you’re a mom who’s feeling a little overwhelmed, or maybe you’re someone who feels like they’ve been running on empty for far too long. I’ve been there. I know that heavy feeling in your chest when you realize that the path you’re on isn’t leading anywhere good.
For a long time, my life was defined by a struggle I didn’t think I could win. Addiction is a thief. It steals your time, your health, and your joy. But the biggest thing it steals is your belief that you have a choice. Today, I want to share a bit of my heart and my journey from that dark place to where I am now: living a life rooted in wellness and helping other women find their own way back to themselves.
The Decision That Changed Everything
There comes a moment for everyone where you realize things just can’t stay the same. For me, that moment led to a flight to Florida. It wasn’t a vacation; it was a desperate search for a new way to live. I checked into treatment, and while I knew I needed to stop the cycle of addiction, I didn’t realize that I was about to embark on a total reconstruction of my life.
In Florida, I learned that recovery isn’t just about putting down a substance. It’s about picking up a new way of being. Up until then, I thought “wellness” was just a buzzword for people who had extra time and money. I didn’t think it was for someone like me. But during those weeks, my eyes were opened.

Healing Beyond the Surface
One of the biggest shifts happened when I started experiencing holistic treatments. I wasn’t just sitting in a circle talking about my feelings (though that was part of it); I was learning how to actually care for the body I had been neglecting for so long.
Massage and Acupuncture
I remember my first real sessions with massage and acupuncture. At first, it felt strange to let someone care for me in that way. But as the tension started to leave my body, I realized how much trauma and stress I had been carrying in my muscles. Acupuncture, specifically, was a game-changer. It helped rebalance my nervous system, which had been fried from years of high stress and unhealthy choices. I started to see that my body wasn’t the enemy; it was a vessel that needed kindness and restoration.
The Power of Supplements
Then there were the classes. I sat in these sessions learning about nutrition and supplements, and it was like a lightbulb went off. I learned how much our brain chemistry is affected by what we put into our bodies. When you’re in recovery, your body is often depleted of the essential vitamins and minerals it needs to function correctly. I started to understand that if I wanted my mind to be clear and my spirit to be strong, I had to give my body the fuel it deserved.
These weren’t just “health tips.” These were survival tools. I realized that wellness and recovery aren’t two separate things: they are hand-in-hand. You can’t truly have one without the other.
Bringing it Back to Idaho
When it was time to leave Florida and head back home to Idaho, I was terrified. It’s one thing to feel good in a controlled environment surrounded by professionals; it’s another thing entirely to stay the course in the “real world” where the laundry is piling up and the old triggers are waiting around every corner.
I knew that if I was going to stay healthy, I had to make wellness a non-negotiable part of my daily routine. I couldn’t just “hope” to feel good; I had to build a lifestyle that supported it.
I started looking for ways to bring that same holistic approach back home. I wanted the clean ingredients, the high-quality supplements, and the toxin-free environment I had learned about in Florida. But as a busy mom, I didn’t have time to spend hours researching every single product or driving to five different specialty stores just to find a dish soap that wouldn’t irritate my skin or a vitamin that actually worked.

The Choice to Partner with Wellness
That search is what led me to this wellness membership. When I found a way to get everything my family needed: from household cleaners to personal care and high-end supplements: all in one place, it felt like a gift. It took the stress out of the “wellness” part of my life.
But it became more than just a way for me to shop. It became a mission.
I realized that there are so many other women out there: mothers, sisters, friends: who are struggling. Maybe they aren’t struggling with addiction, but they are struggling with burnout, health issues, or just the feeling that they are losing themselves. I knew I had to share what I found.
I made the choice to partner with this wellness membership because I wanted to help others find their path to health without it being complicated or overwhelming. I wanted to show other women that they do have a choice. You can choose to feel better. You can choose to bring safer products into your home. You can choose to invest in yourself.
Why I Do What I Do
Being the CEO of my own wellness company isn’t about a title. It’s about the freedom that comes with health. When I was in the thick of my addiction, I had no freedom. I was a slave to my habits. Today, I have the freedom to be present for my kids, the energy to run a business, and the clarity to help others.
My journey from Florida back to Idaho taught me that healing is a choice we have to make every single day. Some days that choice is easy. Other days, it’s a struggle. But having a community and the right tools makes all the difference.
I’m passionate about helping moms thrive because I know how hard we work for everyone else. We are the heart of the home, but if our “heart” is failing: physically or emotionally: the whole house feels it.

Wellness is for You, Too
If you’re feeling stuck, I want you to know that there is a way out. It starts with small, simple choices. Maybe today that choice is just deciding that you’re worth the effort.
You don’t have to go to Florida to find wellness (though the sunshine was nice!). You can start right where you are. Whether it’s swapping out your old cleaners for something safer or finally starting that supplement routine you’ve been thinking about, every step matters.
Recovery is a lifelong journey, and wellness is the fuel that keeps us going. I am so grateful for the lessons I learned through massage, acupuncture, and those classes in Florida, because they gave me the foundation I needed to build a life I love.
